 Roger Hoeft started Illini Asphalt Maintenance Inc. in 1990 as a way to earn extra money while continuing his career at Sears Roebuck. The first year he ran the business from a beat up old van filled with 5-gallon buckets of sealer. The second year was similar but revenue doubled. In fact, it doubled the following year as well. In 1992 he left Sears to pursue the asphalt maintenance business full time.
That season Roger purchased a pick-up and a 300 gallon tank allowing for greater productivity and broader market share. With the increase in productivity came the ability to expand from the residential market into the property management market and commercial market. Every year thereafter the company grew, adding new seal-coating equipment and crack sealing equipment in the process. The additional capability produced the desired result; more work.
In 1994, Roger’s son, Mark followed in his father’s footsteps and founded Suburban Asphalt Maintenance. The story of growth was much the same. Together they operated separate businesses while combining their efforts on larger projects. Their combined efforts allowed them to venture into paving and concrete.
 Then in 2004 they officially combined their companies and incorporated under the same name becoming Illini Suburban Asphalt Maintenance Inc. They worked together successfully growing the business until, sadly, Roger passed away in 2005 after a long battle with cancer. Today, Mark serves as president and works diligently to make his father proud. We now offer complete asphalt maintenance programs that include, paving, seal coating, crack sealing. striping and concrete.
